Technology and Broken Technology

Technology

Poudre School District provides each student with a school-issued laptop and charger. These devices are checked out to individual students and are their responsibility. Laptops must be:

  • Charged every night and brought to school with the charger daily.
  • Carried carefully — close it before moving and use both hands.
  • Used only for school-appropriate work.
  • Used only by their designated student — this includes chargers.

Broken Technology

Students are expected to treat their technology with care, as each student is assigned a laptop and charger to use for all three years at Blevins. If a student’s laptop is sent in for repair, whether due to damage, loss, or misuse, the following steps will be followed each time a repair is needed:

  • First Repair: A communication will be sent home to update families on the status of their student’s technology.
  • Second Repair: The student will meet with a member of the admin team, who will call families to discuss student use of technology.
  • Third Repair: The student will lose the privilege of bringing the laptop home. The laptop will be checked in and out daily at school.

Since loaner laptops are limited and repairs can take between 1 week and 4 months, it is important that students handle their assigned devices responsibly. Repeated repairs may result in limited access to loaners or additional school-based consequences.
