Art classes at Blevins are set up in a special sequential order, with students starting in Art Activity & Appreciation in sixth grade and then moving to Art I, Art II, Jewelry, and/or Pottery/Sculpture in seventh and eighth grades. Each course builds on the previous course's curriculum while adhering to the Colorado Academic Standards for Visual Arts. Students also learn about Art History and the development of the art form they're learning about in class. During the second semester, eighth grade students have the chance to meet teachers from our feeder high school, Rocky Mountain, and learn about the visual art opportunities that are available to them at the high school level.
