About Me

Education and Experience Background

BA in History from Colorado State University

MA in American History from Gettysburg College (In Progress)

6-8th Grade Social Studies Teacher at Blevins Middle School since 2020

  • I taught 7th and 8th grade during my first year, 7th and 6th grade during my second year, and 6th grade only since 2022

Travel Adventures

In my time at CSU, I soaked up European history during my study abroad semester in Ireland. This international experience broadened my perspective on history and culture, which I strive to impart to my students. Beyond the classroom, I'm an avid traveler who enjoys exploring new places, experiencing different cultures, and gaining a deeper understanding of world geography. I've had the privilege of visiting numerous countries, including Italy, Ireland, Scotland, England, France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and the Netherlands. My eyes are set on exploring a new continent, seeking to enrich my knowledge of diverse global histories. My students love finding pictures of my travels around the room and sharing their own connections.

Hobbies and Interests

In my free time, you can often find me paddle boarding at Horsetooth Reservoir, rock climbing, or finding new favorite food spots in the area. My partner and I have a 9-year-old Cocker Spaniel named Hercules who is a complete ball of joy and energy, so he keeps life interesting. To relax, I love watching musicals or comedies and we are constantly finding new DC and Marvel shows and movies to watch. Visiting family in Iowa and Arizona is a regular trip, and we spend much of the time outdoors exploring the desert or kayaking rivers.
