Travel Adventures
In my time at CSU, I soaked up European history during my study abroad semester in Ireland. This international experience broadened my perspective on history and culture, which I strive to impart to my students. Beyond the classroom, I'm an avid traveler who enjoys exploring new places, experiencing different cultures, and gaining a deeper understanding of world geography. I've had the privilege of visiting numerous countries, including Italy, Ireland, Scotland, England, France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and the Netherlands. My eyes are set on exploring a new continent, seeking to enrich my knowledge of diverse global histories. My students love finding pictures of my travels around the room and sharing their own connections.
I currently run our travel program at Blevins to Boston and New York City! This trip is open to all 8th graders and is a great way to get out of the classroom and learn about history and culture in person. If you are interested in learning more, have your student come talk with me or send me an email.
Hobbies and Interests
In my free time, you can often find me paddle boarding at Horsetooth Reservoir, rock climbing, or finding new favorite food spots in the area. My partner and I have a 10-year-old Cocker Spaniel named Hercules who is a complete ball of joy and energy, so he keeps life interesting. To relax, I love watching musicals or comedies and we are constantly finding new DC and Marvel shows and movies to watch. Visiting family in Iowa and Arizona is a regular trip, and we spend much of the time outdoors exploring the desert or kayaking rivers.
