My favorite part about teaching has less to do with teaching and more to do with the connections I make with students. I believe that students will work hard to meet the academic demands placed on them if they have a strong rapport with the adults who educate them. I love to see the look on students' faces as they put the pieces together and concepts begin to make sense to them. Working with middle school-aged children is so rewarding in so many ways, I am constantly inspired by their curiosity and drive which in turns pushes me to be the best educator I can be.
I enjoy hiking, backpacking, and camping. I also love to be in the water when the weather is nice, swimming, paddle boarding or boating. I enjoy riding my bike, we are so lucky to have so many well-maintained trails.
I work as a paraprofessional in the Integrated Services department, assisting special education teachers in meeting the needs of students in the general education setting.
