GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance) is an after school club open to all students regardless of their gender or sexual orientation. The purpose of the club is to create a safe space for LGBTQ+ students and those who support them, as well as for education and activism related to the LGBTQ+ community.
Who: Any student who identifies as LGBTQ+ or any student that feels they are friends or allies for this community. The group will be led by the school counselor, the climate and culture school counselor, and social work intern.
What: Students will engage in conversation and activities around inclusiveness for LGBTQIA+ students within the school setting. This small group setting will provide students opportunities to lead discussions around inclusivity in the school setting as well as increase their awareness of current resources within the school and community.
Where: Blevins Middle School
When: Once every other week from 2:40 PM - 3:40 PM until the end of the school year. Dates listed below:
