ELO Classes

ELO = Extended Learning Opportunity

These 40-minute classes, held Monday-Thursday, give students the opportunity for additional instruction in literacy, math or performance (music or art) content areas. Students are placed in these classes based off of data pulled from multiple sources at the district level which identify potential areas for additional instruction. If a student is proficient in all three areas (reading, writing and math) they will choose an enrichment ELO, such as basketball or music, but these classes will still emphasize the core literacy and math areas via research/reading and other assignments. If a student is identified as partially proficient or below in reading, writing or math, they will be placed in an ELO that will provide additional instruction in that content area.
